Cannabis Torrijas | Weed French Toast Recipe

Celebrating Easter the right way

with Cannabis Torrijas!

Depending on where you live, Easter and the Holy Week is more than a religious celebration; it’s also the time of a great gastronomic culture that developed around it, with many countries preparing various traditional dishes and desserts perfect for enjoying at the beginning of spring.

As a little fun fact, this recipe was concocted during the Middle Ages to use any stale leftover bread, which is why it’s soaked in cream and eggs, so if you got any stale loaf around, now it’s the perfect time to use it.

So, in the spirit of tradition and deliciousness, we bring you today an interesting recipe for “torrijas,” a dessert similar to a French Toast, very popular in many Spanish-speaking countries during this holiday, and whose savory sweetness goes excellent with the ping of cannabis on it.

Are you interested yet? Then let’s use the excuse of Easter to good use and let your next breakfast be a little extra festive these holidays. Enjoy!

“Green” Torrijas: What you will need

  • Your favorite loaf of white bread (rye or otherwise also accepted)
  • 250 milliliters of milk
  • 250 milliliters of butterfat
  • As much cinnamon as you like
  • Eggs
  • Sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • Some lemon zest
  • Your weed of choice
  • Grinder (recommended: KLIP)

Preparation:

We consider that half a gram of weed per slice of bread (around a finger of width) is the best, but use as much as you want.

First, put the milk, butterfat, cinnamon, and lemon zest on the stove, and mix them until it boils. Add your well-grounded weed and lower the flame until medium heat, and we let it simmer for 30 to 40 minutes. Make sure your grinder helps you here for the marijuana to be cooked easily.

When it's done, filter the cream with a strainer and let it cool; otherwise, it might mess up the bread. Meanwhile, mix the eggs with a pinch of salt, and heat some oil on a pan. Once the cream is ready, slowly dip each slice of bread on it first, then on the eggs, and then fry them in the oil.

It will take around a minute to be ready, and afterward, soak up some of the greases with paper towels, and while they are still hot, sprinkle them lightly with some sugar, and then you are done! Keep in mind that it will take up to an hour for the cannabis to start having effects, so just be careful and don’t go too crazy on them.

Remember, these holidays are for resisting temptations!
